Rodeo (taken in September 2013)

I took these at a county fair PRCA Rodeo this past September. 

Not the greatest, but they do capture the real essence and events of traditional rodeo.

This was my first time getting to use my 70-300mm lens to its full potential. It was also my first time doing real action photography. As well as my first time do a full shoot at night. So I'm honestly surprised that any of the hundreds I took that night turned out.

Hey y'all! Welcome to my new photography blog!

If you are here, you probably are either a. my family or friend or b. one of my tumblr followers or c. some random awesome person who somehow stumbled upon this blog. Anyhow, for some reason you're here and I'm glad  you are!

• If you're family or friend or merely an acquaintance, I love you! Thanks for visiting this page and keeping tabs on what I've been doing with my camera lately. More than likely you will recognize a lot of my pictures, as they possibly could be taken on your property or of your animal or whatever. If I've taken portraits of you I will not be posting them without your permission, but that won't be often because I don't do many portrait shoots as you already know. But eventually that will change as I have access to willing model friends. (hint hint girlfriends)
• If you're one of my tumblr followers, thank you for clicking on the link and finding my new blog and choosing to follow it via email! I know it isn't as easy as tumblr, I'm not doing this to make it not as fun to access. I'm doing it because I had issues with people stealing my photos, uploading them as their own, and even selling them to screensaver companies! Nothing I can do about those instances, but I can prevent them with my future photos by uploading them to a non-transferable site where I can disable downloading. I'll keep my tumblr blog up, but in the next few weeks the majority of the photos there will be removed. Every time I upload a photo post to this new and improved blog, I'll put a link to it on my tumblr page.  I figure that's only fair since I'm up to over 400 amazing followers (don't ask, I have no idea how its happened. I'm so blessed!) and I would like to keep my audience.
• And to random people, howdy to y'all as well! Welcome to my world!

Anyways, enough with the welcoming committee. I sure hope you feel welcome and loved by this point, because I need to get on with the post and get this blog started! :)
